After a long 52,000 miles my transmission finally decided it was enough!

Driving down a steep grade, my car violently downshifted to second and started jerking back and forth. Incidentally my TCS light and Check Engine Light came on at the exact same time... I was unable to make my tcs light turn off...

Dealership says its a bad transmission so im stuck w/ a rental.
They also said after diagnosing my car, THERES SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY THROTTLEBODY WHICH IS CAUSING THE CHECKENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. I HAVE AN AEM COLD AIR INTAKE WHICH MEANS THEY CANT LOOK AT MY CAR. ANY SUGGESTIONS GUYS? WHAT CAN I DO? ANYONE ELSE HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON BECAUSE OF THEIR INTAKE???
BTW I'VE HAD THE INTAKE FOR 40,000 MILES AND NO PROBLEMS TILL NOW. IM REALLY MAD RIGHT NOW... SORRY FOR THE CAPS.

 

Sad to hear that this is still happening.

The CAI has nothing to do with anything. See if another dealer will deal with it.

BTW, I agree with Jon that the CAI has NOTHING to do with it. Typical dealership bull$hit. I don't know why because even the 99 TLs are covered under the 7 year 100K mile extended warranty.

hey my second tranny on thursday. and that check engine light comes on and stays on when the tranny takes a dump.

 

it has absolutly nothing to do with the CAI.. acura is full of sh1t

Man its good to know I can come here for advice! Yeah... Now that i think about it, the service rep was acting all wierd, like he didnt know what he was talking about. Throttlebody, your intake aftermarket, we cant look under warranty, just didnt make sense.
