Acura Customer Client

I replaced my battery this weekend and totally forgot about the Radio Code. I purchased my car without an owners manual so I was screwed for the radio code. Did a little searching here on AZ and found the answers I needed.

I called up Acura. "Sir, you have to take your car in so we can pull the radio to get the S/N. It'll cost $100."

What??? Are you kidding me? No way am I going to cough up $100 for something I can look for myself. So from the tips AZ has given me pressing 1 and 6 on the radio and turning on the radio does display the serial number.

It displayed UXXXX and then LXXXX. Called up Acura dealer again and they said for me to bring in the car and show proof that it's my car. F*ck that, I dont have time to go to Acura. I need my Tunes to be working ASAP. So I called up the Acura Customer Client and told them my situation.

"Sir, we'll be more than happy to help you."

Gave them my S/N and I got my Radio Code. Unfortunately, the code didn't work. I think I'll have to unplug the antenna and reenter the code.

But Acura Customer Client was very helpful. That's all I wanted to say!

What I did when I needed mine was use the S/N located in the glove compartment. Gave that to the dealer and got my code in less than 5 min...have you tried that? or did you already have the S/N from somewhere else? I know you can find it in a few different places...

the thing is that Acura told me I had to provide proof that the car belonged to me. So I couldn't do it over the phone. I understand that it's secure that way, but I just dont have time to go to Acura.

Its part of the anti theft for the radio to lock down with no battery - it thinks its been stolen

So you remove the radio yourself- get the serial number off the back- take a pic or photocopy and the car reg to prove you own both- and they will look it up for free
The 100 bucks is one hour labor for the tech to do a 20 minute job removing the radio to get the serial number to take to the parts counter to look up the number and enter in radio

Once you have searched the car in places like the glovebox door on the side- under every fuse cover etc- looking for a 4 or 5 digit code number, sometimes owners write them there,
then resort to radio removal-
register with acura and store the code online there in your account for free

lol...i started as i had 2 extra pairs of headlights...but i ruined one by baking it a little too long and got so fed up I sold the other pair to a member here...at this point, I have so little time to myself anymore I'm just gonna pay someone to do it... Vollyillusionz has a nice quad projector setup...TITS!!! I'd lik to et something like that or since the 99-01 housing is smaller, something similar to yours or ontariotl's....i only found one place that does retrofits, but I have heard mixed reviews...so...still on the hunt...

hahaha. your headlights melted in the oven? Sucks dude. Just preheat the oven to 350 for about 10 minutes. Then turn it off. then throw in the headlights and leave it in there for a few minutes, checking on it though. I think people would charge a lot for the retro, so you might as well do it yourself.

haha, yeah man. It's a piece of cake. A walk through the park. Like taking candy from a baby. Haha. Well, make sure you post pics when you do get it retrofitted.
