AEM Cold Air Intake support?

Hiyo!

I just installed my AEM CAI yesterday and I noticed that theres huge hole right underneath the piping... where the bottom of the stock intake use to be. is there something we should put there to support the AEM intake up or is it suppose to hang like that? Its fine the way it is... just wondering if anyone had an alternative...

ps. the cai sounds great! and feels great too! definitely feel the difference from stock getting on the ramp... or just romping the gas pedal on straightways!

Thanks in advance everyone. i apologize if this has already been discussed, i've searched but no luck... link me and i will look at it. thanks

there is supposed to be a hole b/c that's where the intake is supposed to go through. underneath the hole is where your resonator used to be. there is only one fastener that holds the intake down and the rest goes down near the bumper. hope this helps.

thanks for your reply LeeDan. I guess i forgot to add... the fastener on the intake was cut off [by previous owner] so right now it isnt fastened down to the bottom panel. the intake is pretty much ONLY clamped to the hole at the engine side [2 clamps]. im worried that since its not clamped down everytime i hit a pot hole the intake will bounce. do you think this will cause a problem in the long run? i put tape by the front of the intake so it wouldnt rub up against the panel.

thanks for your help!

i actually don't think it will cause any problems for you. the intake is designed to move around anyway when you hit bumps on the road. it's not supposed to be stiff, but rather moveable. if you're already using some kind of tape, you will be fine.

You should have no problems even with the bracket being broken off.

Don't some people's CAIs get holes in them from rubbing against that hole? It's probably not a good thing that it's not bolted into place.

You will want to look into some way of fastening it. Its not a good idea that its flopping around loose in there. It could come off the TB or rub on the frame and put a hole in it.
