Read in the local paper that there may ba a recall fo the 2002 tl's accelerator/throttle body due to hard pedal. Is this true?

Owners of several Acura and Honda models may complain that the accelerator is hard to press or that they've felt a pop when accelerating.

That's how it feels when the throttle body needs to be replaced, say the engineers at Honda. The vehicles include: 2001-2003 Acura MDX, 2001-2003 3.2 CL Type and 2002-2003 3.2 TL Type S; and 2002-2004 Honda Odyssey and 2003-2004 Pilot.

Honda says service centers should replace the throttle body and the related gasket on affected vehicles. Work is covered within the provisions of the warranty, but the folks at Honda always mention in their bulletins that claims may be eligible for goodwill assistance. Admirable.

maybe i could use this excuse to make acura fix my STICKING pedal....it's not very hard....but sticky.....4 times in, they still haven't been able to fix it yet...

I installed a type s throttle body in my '00. I'm not sure what year the throttle body. But I've noticed after WOT and let go, I cant seem to press my gas and go.. I have to slightly press it and let go before the pedal actually moves.

I have a 03 Type S the pedal is stiff until the car warms up for a few minutes. Will def check this out.

Hard pedal is probably a dirty Throttle body...spray that shit with carburator cleaner and you wont have a "HARD" pedal...BS recall

I love the gas pedal feel in my TL-S. Much better than my 04 TL's drive by wire throttle pedal feel.
