Accessing driver's door speaker?

Can you just carefully pry the speaker cover off from the outside, or do you have to take the door panel off?

Sometimes that channel doesn't work-it comes & goes. Probably a problem with the head unit, but want to start by checking the basics.

i would just take off the panel if you really want to see closely what the problem is.

you'd probably have to anyways.

since the door panel is easy as hell to take off, just go that route.. and im pretty sure the grille is screwed on from the back, so you will just fuck shit up if you pry at it..
