ABS stops after fluid exchange

So I keep reading over and over about doing some ABS stops after flushing your brake fluid, to make sure to get air out of the ABS system.
Why would there be air in the ABS system if you didn't have air in your lines to begin with? I know some of the old fluid may stay in the abs system and then mix when it activates, but that shouldnt be a problem right?
When you first start the car and two certain speeds the ABS self checks, that doesn't release any fluid? (Sorry, I'm clueless about ABS)
Seems like a pain to have to bleed your brakes twice.

The brake fluid in the ABS system has been sitting there for a long time, so it's best to at least mix it with new fluid by using the ABS.

You would rather have 90% new fluid and 10% old fluid throughout the entire system instead of all the old fluid concentrated in one area.

I'll have to do more research on ABS. Anybody know of a link with info pertaining specifically to our TLs?

Found some info in a repair manual. If I'm reading the diagram correctly, there's two Pumps?

IF thats IF you had the brake line off -or left caliper bleed open- fluid in master got below the feed tubes to calipers, or otherwise may have let air in
THEN you must do 2 abs stops from 45mph
if 2nd time had firmer pedal there was air in abs
now rebleed all wheel and done!
LF RF RR LR is the TL specific bleed order

usually this only occurs when calipers are removed- replaced- maybe SS lines installed
plenty of time for air to sneak in
happened to me~ thats how I know about this!
and its in the real service book at dealer
