I purchased a 99 TL from a Acura dealership recently and it came with the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. I thought that warranty was just for the 2000-2003 models. The sales person never mentioned anything about it during the sales pitch. I guess that means that my transmission is covered. Has anyone else received this type of warranty on a used 99 TL.

 

Yes, I bought mine Certified Used in December 2001. Added 12 months/12,000 miles onto the factory 4yr/50,000 mi and moved the Powertrain up to 7yr/100,000.

 

hmm.. i have a 99 but i bought it from a toyota dealer as a trade in.. is the warranty issued by the dealership or from honda? i am up to 88k miles and it runs smoothly with the occasional jerk here and there.

Honda offered the extended warranty on transmissions to 7 year/100K miles.

 

damn those trannies.

 

7yr/100K warranty on the 99 TL does not apply to us. I called acura myself and asked them about it , says it only effected 2000 +

Tranny is covered. You should be getting a Vehicle service contract within two weeks. 4yr/100k coverage for Systems such as: engine, transmission, chasis, fuel systems, computers & electronics, air conditioning/heating/cooling, AmericanHonda authorized Electronic/Audio Accessories also Rental Vehicle reimbursement, Road service benefits -
Equally important be sure to read what is not covered...
Its interesting that most of the mods we do to the OEM parts are not covered by warranty anyways (i.e. exhaust systems, brake systems, wheels, rims, )

 

All certified Acura's come with a 7/100k from the origonal date of purchase. I just got my tranny warranty extention letter last week, hope it blows soon so I can get the one with the fix.
