99 TL Stock Speaker and Sub Replacement.

Hi all.
Well after listening to a crappy sub for a couple of weeks and reading most of the audio forums on here I have decided to replace the speakers and sub. I was wondering if this can be done without replacing the Head Unit.

I currently have four of the following speakers.
PYLE PL53BL

5.25'' Three-way Triaxial Speaker Systems
Power Handling: 100 Watts Rms / 200 Watts Max
Non-fatiguing Butyl Rubber Surround
1'' High Temperature ASV Voice Coil
Standard 5.25'' Size Fits Oem Locations
Blue Poly Injection Cone
20 oz Magnet Structure
1'' Neodymium Film Dome Midrange
3/4'' Piezo Tweeter
Impedance: 4 Ohm
Sensitivity: 89 Db
Frequency Response: 100Hz - 20Khz
Mounting Depth:2''

I was wondering if these are OK to use. I did note that the stock speakers are only 2 Ohm. is this a problem?
Also if anyone has suggestion about a good sub Please let me know.

This will be the first time I have done a upgrade like this so any help would be greatly welcomed.

Thanks.......

Stock will still sound better, I replaced my speakers with Alpine's Type-s.. they weren't that great ti prefered the sound of the stock bose system.

i personally think the stock bose system sucks and youre better off replacing it. the only thing is youll definitely want some better replacement speakers than the ones you have. look into some better speaker brands like infinity, polk, jl audio, etc. and then for even better sound put in some components up front with custom mounted tweeters. as for the sub youll definitely have to take it out and put a sub enclosure in the trunk because the stock sub location doesnt fit most aftermarket subs. all of this will not be at its best without replacing the headunit because you wanna bypass the bose eq for the best sound with aftermarket speakers and youll do that by replacing the headunit. ive completely replaced my bose system with everything i just explained and i can pretty much guarantee that if you get some good quality equipment it will sound much better than the bose.

There is a special harness you can purchase to retain your steering wheel controls.

there is an adapter to keep steering wheel controls, I had one installed myself. you can purchase these at any GOOD audio shop, or you can even buy one from uncald4 in the BLACK MARKET portion of these forums, for an extra fee he will even pre-wire it for you.

as for the sub there are a couple people on azine who have found free air subs that will fit in the stock sub location with a lil modification. Their not the best answer to adding lows but it is better than the stock sub. I believe the kicker rmb8 and ssmb8 will fit but you will need to fabricate a spacer for them to fit.

good luck bro
