I want to do the DIY clear headlights, but the '99 headlights and the newer ones are different with regargs to the orange plastic cover. On the '99s the piece runs vertically and in the newer ones it runs horizontally. I have heard mixed opinions on how the headlight looks with the orange plastic removed WITHOUT buying the clear replacement. the signal bulb is not actually behind the orange plastic and is already an orange bulb.

I just remember reading that the light loosk cheeze with the orange removed and no clear lense inserted.

I don't actually need pics, opinions will do I just don't want to get half way through the installation and have to order clear lenses b/c the lights look like crap. plus I don't want to open the lights twice, if I can get away with just taking out the orange lense I would be really happy....What do you guys think??

Do you guys think it would look good (shiney chrime look) behind the orange lkense. I actually prefer the NO lense than the smoked ones. Do you think it would look good without the lense (as good as the one in the other post) with out any lenses?

 

get the reflector and smoke them out then put them back in.

 

my bad when I said smoked I meant clear lenses, but translucent, not transparent. I was wondering if behind the orange in the '99 do you think it would be the reflective backing like in the other parts of the light and behind the 2000+ TLs orange relfector?

 

i meant, get hte amber reflector that you take out and put on some of that smoke paint. that way it doesnt exaclty look amber but it lights up amber... therefore staying legal and looking unique.
