I know there are a bevy of threads in regards to this but none answer the question i have. I have both a 99 TL and a 99 Accord V6 that fall under the recall. Now here is my problem, the previous owner of the accord had the recall performed supposedly (according to ownerlink) and the same ignition contacts are going out again. I haven't had the problem with the TL yet but was considering taking the TL in to have it done anyway.

My main question is really one of two fronts. I know the lady whom I bought the Accord took the car in on the recall only b/c of the notice she recived, not because of any problems. If i take in the TL and the same thing happens where it starts having problems because of recall work what is my course of action, do i have to bend over and take it, or are they obligated to fix it again because of the recall?

I would advise you to call the Acura Customer Service Hotline (1-800-382-2238). They will ask you for your VIN # and they can tell you if the recalls were done. I just got a 99TL and they told me that the ignition interlock recall were not done so I took my car a couple of weeks ago to the dealer to have it fix. The Acura Cust. Serv. can also tell you if the original owner purchase extended warranty on the vehicle. IMO, if the problem you're having is related to the recall, they might fix it for free. Go to your dealer and have it check. Good Luck.
