6000k HID

I did a search on this topic as I know it has been beaten to death in the past, but the posts were like almost a year old on most of them. My question is about pricing? I wanna know if anyone has done the HID 6k upgrade in their low beams and fogs recently and what price they paid, cuz I wanna get a good deal and not get ripped off. I know that the prices have come down a lot over the year so I can't use the past threads to compare and judge. If ne of you's has a hook up... I would appreciate it if you could hook it up!!

Hey NYdesi80:

Sorry to jump in on your thread.
I was about to ask the same thing. If you find it here locally let me know, perhaps we can go together and get a discount or if more people are interested maybe we can join a group buy.

Anyone know what bulb would produce super bright blue look.

TLNY, thats sounds good to me, and to your question on the bulbs, the best way to go is the 6000K setup all around, fogs and low beams. I read on some post that they can get it for 700 bux.

Oh just in case your wondering that 700 bux includes 2 Philips Ballasts, Wiring and Two 9006 (6000k) bulbs and also 2 D2R (6000k) Bulbs. Of course this was months back if not maybe even a year, so the prices have come down a bit. But go with the 6000k Look you won't regret it!!

If you own a TL .. you don't need to get the ballats since our low-beams already have them. All you need to do is buy the 6000k bulbs. As for the 6000k conversion for the foglights, shyne has it done...search for it and you'll find pics. It looks real nice

I got an email from that guy in Taiwan that TL Diplomat told me to ask ... and here is the info:

230 shipped for the D2R bulbs and 464 for the 9006 Philips Kit, both are 600k. Total Price for both is 694. If you decide to pay with Paypal, then you must pay 728, due to xtra fees he gets charged. The D2R bulbs he will get in about a week to 10 days time.

I wonder if there would be people interested in doing a group order to see if he would reduce the price a little. Ne wayz, if ne one is interested please say so with a reply. Lets get a count of heads.

Actually, that's the guy I refered lots of members to. $230 shipped is lowest price he'll go. He actually started from $280 about a couple of years ago.
There's already group buy from other site for the bulbs only for the same price. He's willing to sell you a set of bulbs at the group buy cost.

6000K has more blue/purple tone color compares to stock 4300K. It's more whiter.

Stock 4300K

6000K upgrade

WOW, what a huge difference. Is the bulb all you have to change? Or is there more to it?

Just the bulbs. Our factory balasts can handle that, but nothing more than 6000K.

How do you know the factory ballasts can handle the increased "power" of the 6000k's ... is there a spec. limit for the ballasts? (confused)
