Kris, what are you doing for exhaust manifolds, the 6speed headers are notched for the shift linkage. Good luck. I've thought about doing the same thing (we have the exact same car), but I figured a I would upgrade my engine along with my tranny and got a 2000 WS6 6speed. Now the TL has a HP complex.

wow...after over 200,000miles, you still somehow find it in you to do a 6-speed conversion on your TL. Many would have probably considered getting a new car. But man, this is love right here. good luck and cant wait to see it done.

Well the tranny came today already. I can gaurentee that that things weighs 150 pounds less than the auto. I was able to pick it up with 1 hand. The packing invoice showed 97 lbs and thats not something you can even come close to doing with the auto. I wish i had a scale to weigh the auto.

Just how do you plan on getting around the difference in the hood sizes? This explains why you are almost looking down into the hood (since it's raised up so much) in the 02-03 from the driver's seat. To me the 99-01 hood view from the cockpit seemed much more natural.

Well just for grins i bolted it up to my block for fitment issues and there were none. now i just need the type-s engine and some mounts and im golden for drop in!

Damn, thats good!.. Question to ask.. First of all you are getting a TL-S Engine right? With the 6 speed from a 02 CL? But arent the TL-S and The CL-S have the same engine but the CL have the option to have 6 speed? But how about the 3.0 CL? Dont they come in 5/6 speed? I mean dont want to sound like a idiot but a question I wanted to get answers too.. Good luck man.. If I was up there, I wouldve def helped out..

I did run into something i have to figure out. My TL-P has what im assuming is the speed sensing powersteering. It has lines that go from the PS rack to the tranny. The 6 speed and type-s dont appear to have this. I need to see if there is a way around thas do that i dont have to buy a PS Rack.

due to alot of differences between the CL/TL and TL-S/CL-S....would I be correct to assume that a 6-speed swap would be easier on a TL-S?
also fsttyms1 if your engine had lower mileage would you have considered just mating your engine with the new tranny?

fsttyms1, how do both transmission cases look are they almost similar if the manual has a different case im wondering if your axles are gonna swap in or your gonna need to get some custom ones done up. that was one of the problems i thought about when attempting to do the swap.

Man I have not visit this site for few weeks and fsttyms1 is going all out with the 6 speed swap.
As for the powersteering rack, there are few ways to get around this problem. you can disconnect the speed sensor hose and connect a by pass fitting for the hose.
What hose on the speed sensor does, is change the powersterring fluid pressure to activate the fluid pressure switch, and send the signal to the ECU.
The fluid pressure sensor on the TL-P sent less the 1.0V between terminal A26 and B20 on the PCM when the wheel is center, but when the care is moving it will sent a 1 to 14.4 volt to the PCM.
If you are installing a TYPE-S ECU this function is not use, but you will need to keep the PSP switch sensor to the ECU assuming you going to use the TYPE-S ECU hardness and connecter the PSP switch signal is basically the same position buy is now A26(Brn/yel) and E20 (GRN)
Hope this help.

The CL-S Manual ECU should not make a difference.
I'll need to look up the different between the TL-P and CL-S steering, I think all other sensor should be the same, the only thing I can think that might give you some problem is the TCS and VSA. I guess you will not need TCS or VSA onces you go 6MT.

Make sure you get the exect year the new wirring hardness is comming from, if possiable the VIN number. Acura do change the color coding during production.

The part in the 3rd pic is whats on the tranny and lines go to the PS rack. Its that end that needs to be pluged(the PS- which im still trying to figure out how to do with out leaking since they are 2 different dia's)
