Hey guys, some may remember me, some may not...

I'm just dropping a quick post to add myself to the "tranny" list.

Last night I was doing about 50mph when my car dropped down into 1st gear. Felt like I hit something, I think I got whip-lash. It did it again at 45mph, and then repeatedly did it the entire 10 minutes back to my house.

My bro took it for a spin when I got home. Every light came on - on the dask - and started flashing, check engine, traction, the D5 drive light, etc...

I had it flat-bedded from my house this am, and Acura just called me to tell me they have "diagnosed the problem."

Something "failed internally" in my transmission and they will have to replace it. They SHOULD have the car for about a week (so he says). Right now Acura is paying for an 05 Explorer for me to tool around in.

I hate Acura. I have so had it with my car. I had it in 2 months ago for an issue with my second gear in my tranny - they fixed a recall - and it was running great - UNTIL LAST NIGHT!

I'm mad.
I'm sad.
I'm very annoyed.

I cannot wait until my lease is up, and then dude, I'm so done with Acuras!

 

I second your feelings. My tranny went on me and I had to pay $2,100. (I was about to buy a house no less)

Acura will reap what it is sewing, mark my words. They can't sweep this under a rug for forever.

 

bummer! with all the problems they have with these trannies you should try to get out of your lease early due to the failures

Yeah I also cant wait for my lease to be up. One of the best moves I made was lease this POS. But I love the look of this car. And fsttyms Do you think I could get out of a lease early. I have 18 more months.

You mean your MOM'S TL? The '99s don't have the tranny problems the other TLs have anyway.

penguin correction: I have a 99tlp, and I already had a tranny replacement, same problem 2nd or 3rd gear problem, yea I'm done w/ acuras, stupid stupid stupid TRANSMISSION!

 

Now I'm cruising around in a loaded 05 explorer. Never been one to drive a truck, but I'm actually enjoying it. (Yes, another crazy biatch in an SUV!)

Acura said I should have my TL back in a week - we'll see about that.

I'm just really upset about it all. Stupid 03 TL. It was my first new new car ever. A graduation gift for busting my butt. Thank god I decided to only lease it. I would cry if I actually owned it. POS
