2nd Gen Tranny question

I have a dealer looking for an 02 or 03 TL right now, and after looking at this site and others im a little worried about the tranny. The TL i get will probably have little or no warranty left on it and i dont wanna have to replace the tranny ever, let alone every few thousand miles. Are the trannys just junk, are certain ones just defective? Are there a lot of people hear that have 100k plus miles and have had no problem with the tranny? im thinking i may need to call the dealer and consider something else. i want a TL because i drove a 93 legend for a long time and loved it, but i dont wanna spend 20 grand on a car thats going to need the tranny replaced right away. thanks in advanced for the info.

if u can get an extended warranty or aftermarket warranty....nothing to lose....but its personal choice and money situation or even if u want to risk it after that...

the extended warranty only goes to 100k that crap since most used 99-03 tl's hav nearly 60k-100k already
