2nd gen nav question

hi all! my sister crashed my TL-S and its probably totalled (sad). so now I'm, thinking of getting another 2nd gen TL but with nav this time.

the main question that I have is about the quality of the nav offerred in the 2nd gen TLs, I've never owned a nav system before and am wondering if the nav in the 07 TL for example blows away the nav in the 02. is the nav in the 02 real outdated?

any info would be great! thnx!

yes the 07 is far superior to the 2nd gen for what it can do.

any suggestions on a really good quality aftermarket system that fits well in a 2nd gen acura? is there anything that would compare to the navi in the 07 TLs and has voice commands, bluetooth support etc?

thanks for the replies :-)

Yeah I sat in a 07 TL-S a while back and didn't want to get out! It told me "welcome driver". I'm all I WANT IT! LOL

The navigation is soooo much better than the 2nd gen's system which is basically first gen navigation technology. I think the new navi even tells you that you look really hot when you get in.

On a side note, my buddy's Camry Hybrid tells him "Excellent!" when he drives in "stealth mode" which means he didn't use any gas.

I would get a non navi 2nd Gen and then buy a Pioneer Avic D3 Headunit or something similar that has NAV built in. It's a fairly simple install and looks real clean.

Buy the trim piece from UNCALD4 in the Sponsored Sales thread in the Black Forum. He can also make you a plug n play harness so you don't have to splice wires. As far as the stereo/nav unit, you can get a D3 online between $800 and $1000.

The 2nd Gen NAV is ok, but nothing compared to the 04-07 models Navi!!!
