All-I’m having some issues with my DD 2000 TL. Ive been having multiple issues for the past month. It all started with the P0780 code. Got the TCS light and flashing D5. I replaced the 3rd gear pressure switch. I then did a 3x3 trans flush using Honda trans fluid. Things were fine for a little while (20 miles) then got the TCS and flashing D5 again. I damn near overheated the engine on the way home from work. I cleaned the shift solenoids and cleared the codes. All the lights are off but I now have one slight problem. I can’t go into reverse. It’s like the car is in neutral. I also checked the coils and all are good. Can anyone help me out? I appreciate it!

 

Sound's like you might have to make arrangements for a new transmission. When the original tranny went out on my 2000 TL reverse stopped working entirely as well with the same P0780 code. It's common to see reverse fail once those transmissions go and once they do they're too far gone to save sadly.

 

Aw man...that really sucks. I was thinking that maybe the after market pressure switch may have cause the issue since after I replaced it is when I started having all the problems. It’s too old and too many miles on it for a new trans. Think it’s time to let it go. :*(

How much I remember from transmissions at my cars in past if tranny is grinding it is gone. If tranny has problem shifting but is not grinding worth try clean filters at it.

 

Thank you for the response! I followed his video and cleaned the solenoids. I did not, however, check it with a multimeter. I will do that as my last attempt. I drove it around today and got a different code: P0730 Incorrect Gear Ratio. It didn't necessarily feel like the gears were grinding but it was more so erratic shifting. If the solenoids are bad then I'll replace but I may be better of donating the car. I really don't want to

 

Yeah I got the same problem though I was just driving no problems everything was working fine go into a parking lot come back go and reverse it wouldn't go in reverse so I had to push the car out of a parking lot that was embarrassing.
