2000 TL TCS Light / Tachometer Problem

Hi, ill keep it simple. Weird problems.
TCS light comes on once in a while and as it does the tachometer (RPM) indicator drops to 0, and kicks in and out every so often and so does the light. Other then that the car works just fine. Any ideas?

Also "Side airbag" light comes on once in a while.

Its possible that its some sort of conection/physical issue as hitting bumps or whatever seems to make TCS/Tachometer go on/off sporadically.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I hope that was supposed to be in red, final~

if the passenger is out of normal seated position--as in drunk buddy leaned against the window, or having the seat reclined wayyyyy back
then the OPDS measures a differance in weight between seat lower and upper sections from its set parameters- turns OFF the side airbag so in the event of crash- the airbag doesnt break their neck as it deploys in a milisecond
objects placed on passenger seat will also trigger the system

something bad must have happened!!--if there is a safety device.. there was a problem...

99s had a recall for the ignition switch back, with similar symptoms- engine will shut off and back on while driving, dash lights come on etc
bumps and turns may increase the effect

2000s and later years ~appear~ to use the same part--so its also subject to failure

thats where I would start--under 50 bucks at parts store, see diy section for more

before you buy any parts have the parts store run a free electrical system test-
it cks the wires, alt, batt, starter draw.
Old cables or loose connection can be at fault, car needs steady power

Any blue growth on the battery terminals??

have you done any troubleshooting so far?

if the red SRS light comes on and stays on-
we have a special 10/150kmiles warranty of that ,,covers 5 of the 6 parts and 99.9% of the time its a warranty covered failure= according to service managers from acura that are ziners

if the yellow side bag stays on- I think that same warranty covers it

Battery is fine, checked myself and had it checked at Mr. Lube today after Oil/Filter change and coolant flush. Power is constant, only the TCS lights up RPMs hit 0.

The ignition switch is the same part that prevents turning car off in drive or reverse gears? I remember i left it in neutral in my driveway by accident once.

Also, i got 201k on the vehicle so the above warranty doesn't apply.

Ohh, i just remembered, i have seen the backlight for all the gauges dim for a split second once in a while, so im guessing it happens on a bump or something that affects the ignition switch.
