I was driving it was making a loud rattle noise and was even louder when accelerating and made car shift funny then i was almost home and it shut off i looked and it was smoking near the cat then i let cool down went to start but as soon as i turned key over lost all power

You're basically asking "hey my car makes some noises, what's wrong with it?"


No pictures, no videos, how are we supposed to help you otherwise?

Because you have offered zero insight into what is actually going on other than your car was smoking and now won't start. Could be a billion different issues.

I also just had tdot here they tried to give me one of there boost from the highway truck and it still would lose all power as u went to crank it he said that the pulleys barely would turn

Now we're cooking with fire!!!... Sounds like something has seized up... Could be the alternator seizing up Or the starter

I think you should take it to a mechanic if you are not at all mechanically inclined. Even if by some miracle we can tell you what's wrong with it based on little to no information, I'm pretty positive you'll be taking it in to be fixed anyway.

I am not by any means an expert, but it sounds like a bearing is shot on something that runs through your serpentine belt (Alternator, power steering pump, idler pulley, etc)

Any CELs?

Follow SamDoe's advice, take it to a mechanic.
