Where can you buy then and get them installed? I hate my current HID's.

it's way more convinient to buy in local if they have them for similar price, i don't even mind to pay a little more if it's within 5-10%

buy it anywhere.. autozone, pepboys, circuit city.. any store that sells aftermarket products should have bulbs. and you dont need to get them installed, its really easy to do. twist and pull the bulb out, bring it to store, they'll match the size and give you the right ones. ask for whichever intensity light (6000K is the legal limit). After purchase, just twist it back into the little plug and put the plug back into the headlamp hole.

ok. just making sure. part of that has to do with the 99-01 headlight design, age of the bulbs too . the 02-03 doesnt have that. (atleast not that ive seen)

Not to go off topic, but I wanted to expand on this a bit further.

Blue lights mean the vehicle has firearms inside. No AMBULANCE or FIRETRUCK would have blue lights on them.

Police cars, motorcycles, unmarked vehicles, and maybe even big rig trucks would be the only ones that have them.

the guy from HIDexpress 866-368-4900 can get you a pretty good deal on the bulbs itself. tell him youre on Acura-TL.com. His account is Crazy TL.. i called him today and he said he could get it to me shipped and everything for 199. i dont know if its a good deal or not, but yeah.. he's from this forum. heh

im planning on ordering the 8000K for my 99. since i hate that dimming crap whenever i turn on my lights.. it always turns yellowy-white after 30 minutes its been on.

Well, ambulances around here have blue lights. I was a member of a fraternity that had purchased one and when we got it it had some blue lights. For us to drive it, we were required to change the lights to orange. But, of course, I've never seen a firetruck with blue lights.

HID bulbs aren't exactly cheap, you might want to do more research before spending your money. My $.02.

I have a 2003 TL-S, stayed with the factory D2Rs in the low beams, coz they are the brightest. But in the fogs i went up to 12K for the looks, very deep blue, i know the light out put goes down, but it is still 2 times brighter than the regular halogen bulb. Where as the 4100K low beams are 3 times brighter than the halogen when it comes to the Lumens.

I know what you mean. My wife drives around with the lights on ALL the time. I thought, man that is gonna cost me $300 when those bulbs go out. Found out the going rate (non-retail) is only $70. Some people are making a boat load of money off of these bulbs.

Hey, I spent ~$250 for a set of 6000k phillips bulbs cause I though one of my stock ones blew out, then later find out it was the ballast fault. Now I have 4 good bulbs...what a waste.

Osrams are 4300K (which I believe are stock). Philips are 4100K. After a couple of hundred hours, you can't really tell the difference.

edgalang,
Sorry to hear that. Always a good idea to swap bulbs first to make sure it is in fact the bulb and not the ballast. But at least you'll have replacements when you need them, lol.

Those look kind of green. But if that's what you want, I hope you have good luck with them. I stick with 4X00K but I'm pretty sure you can find Philips Ultinons (6000K) for less than $200.

Just my but the bluer the bulb the more it looks like an HID-wannabee. The whiter the light the more you know it is HID.

As long as it gives me more light, I wouldn't care what colour they are...My stock ones looks like their fading because its turning yellow after like 30 mins.

Here is a pic from their site with the blubs I will be getting. I'll let you know the what happens with them:

Just for comparison purposes:

Philips 6000K outputs about 2400 lumens
Philips 4100K outputs about 3200 lumens

Madcat, let us know how these bulbs turn out. I'm very interested in hearing what the color is, too.
