We just got our first 03 TL and TLs. Hardly any changes- the hood emblem looks a little different, and navi cars now come with onstar. Not much difference in price either.

 

Wayne, will Tl ever become rear drive?

Hey Wayne what features does ONstar have and how much would it cost to put that on an older 99-02 TL? Where does the voice play through? Its own speaker or or the radio? Whers the mic? Does it make cell phone calls for you? Sorry no more questions lol

 

that makes no sense to me. I thought there was going to be major changes to the TL? i thought i remember snook telling us 03 was going to be totally redesigned? or will that be the 04's arriving in 03?

I think that is 04. Makes more sense to have the 99,00,01,02,03 body for 5 years.

Hmm...OnStar...well...i believe it's way too much trouble to try and install such a system into a car that hasn't had one in the first place. But I'm not too sure what you need exactly. and i think it uses the speakers...and yes, you can make phone calls and recieve phone calls. and keep in mind there is a annual fee for the OnStar service.

 

Ray that is a pretty sweet looking pic in your sig. Very nice. Now i have to seriously consider getting the darn body kit.

I want a 04....Yesterday...What is going to change....???

 

i stopped by my local dealership (Curry) and the guy said that they wudnt have the 03s in for 7 to 10 days! man. i really want to see what that emlbem thing looks like. i think the new TLs emblems r HUGE. i was just thinkin of a ricer trying to fit one of those gay blue emblems on his car... those aftermarket emblems are like half the size as the 02 emblems.

 

You guys are going to wish you didn't get the 02-03 TL-S when the 04 TL-S comes out in about a year from now. Can we say rear....? :p

 

If they make the 2004 way ugly, all of us will be happy to have bought the 02-03.

Hey, i have a chrome with blue color backing emblem on the rear of my car.

 

why are some of you guys surprised there's no BIG change for the '03s? it is not a new model. if it was, there would be tons of pics and news about it.

 

my bust, bigman. im talkin ab the 02 front emblems they r ALOT bigger. ehhh. blue does look good with white. but IMO it looks better with nothing at all. YO, i saw a white TL with a blue emblem on the back at curry in the shop. was that ur whip? this was... ummm. a month ago or something.

actually, i think the new 04 TL is gonna b ugly, sure it will b faster, but im totally not feeling the redesigns. they r making the cars TOO damn sleek and sporty that is looks weird. Such as the old ES300 is so much hotter than the new ES. the new ES makes me want to vomit. Same with the WRX and the Impreza RS. even the SClasses, the 92-98s are boxier but so much more luxurious looking and sturdier looking. just my opinion, but i think they chances for the TL looking better than it does now (the 02, or even the 00s) is less than 50%. i wudnt get ur hopes up... but of course, im looking forward to a new design. if acura decides to spruce up the TL and make a somewhat slight change like from the 01, to the 02s, than the TL will prolly look hot. but if they design a whole new car, i doubt its gonna look as good as the 02s.

 

I hope the '04 is the BOMB. They need to really up it to compete with the new cars from nissan/infinity (ie G35/Skyline) . I'd love to see Acura come out with a KICK-ASS 04TL. 3.5L iVTEC v6 with VTM-4, ATTS, 6-speed manumatic a-la BMW, better leather, electrochromatic side mirrors and 330+hp. What do you guys think?

 

I think 06 would be a safer yr to buy, just to make sure Acura doesn't make another minor change like they did with the 02s. And just like how the 99 TLs had so many recall problems, I'm sure the first gen of the next model may too.

 

first gen = potential problems always.

as far as the 04, it will be different looking i'm sure, but as far as RWD as some had mentioned earlier, i doubt it. Honda's not the biggest RWD fan for some reason, but i'm not complaining.

I got to take a ride for the first time in an S2000 last night and wooohooo was that fun. The guy driving was sport shifting (not letting up the gas as he shifted gears) and he squealed the tires from 1st to 2nd at 8k rpm's! it was awesome........

anywhoo, the 04, in my opinion, can't be ugly because Honda has always put out flashy cars. I don't think I know of a Honda car that didn't look good for it's time, think about it........
