03 accord 6 speed for tl conversion

Ive done a search and found the one thread but I just wanted to make my own to make sure. I know fsttyms1 has just finished his 6 speed tl conversion and I wanted to make sure that he isnt the only one cause I know hes going to get lonley in that 2nd gen 6 speed tl club. so here is my question of the day. I recently was lucky enough to come across a 6 speed tranny that is out of an 03 accord. I wanted to just double check and make sure that this will work cause I dont want to shell out the money and then it not work. this this is local for me and worked out with good timing so I can go pick it up this weekend. so does anyone know for sure if this will work? Please any help would b great

I've seen some Accords get the Type S engine, but I haven't seen the opposite. However, I am not sure though.

^^well here is the thing with that....you have seen 6th gen accords get that swap. you would be trying to put a 7th gen av6 tranny/engine into whats bascailly a 6th gen accord...not 100% sure, but i dont think that will work out...

From what I was told it will work with some modifications, but as you saw from Kris's ordeal wiring is a huge pain in the ass, so I hope your installer knows what he is doing.

I have a 2000 tlp right now...but I bought the type S motor and planned on doing basically everything fsttyms1 did with his swap. But I was hoping that the 03 accord 6 speed would work as I found one locally for 1200 but if its not a sure thing I would rather just work a little harder in finding the cls tranny and pay a little more if need be.

not sure about that tranny, but if its like teh 3rd gen TL it wont be plug and play if memory remembers correctly. It had something to do with having 1 speed sesnsor or something like that

I would think the 03 AV6 tranny would be more similar to the 04+ TL 6MT than the older ones, since they are of the same generation-family, for lack of a better way to put it. I wouldn't take that gamble.

I'm pretty sure they don't fit. I believe their blocks (J30A4) are similar to the 03+MDX blocks (J35A5) which are different than ours. The transmission mount points are different.
