02 TL-S Trans problem-No check engine lights-read
So the trans was slipping/engine revving so I got it towed home. Changed the little round filter on top of the tranny, drained and filled with 3 qts of the new Honda fluid. Took it for a few mile test drive and drove in D5, the engine would rev and the shifts got weird. Before I made it home the car wouldn't move anymore. I sat on the side of the road, shifting through each gear and revving the engine. It wouldn't move in any gear at all. I shut the car off for about two minutes, restarted, and was able to go again in D5 to make it home. During all this I have never got any check engine light, VSA light, or anything. On my other tranny failures I've always had the dash light up like a xmas tree, but not this time. Mean anything?

might be low on fluid if you only added 3
it often drains up to 3.4 if you are patient and fluid is warm
when my trans went it only got flashing D5 light on dash 1 time getting on freeway
and no other lights
code said engine overrev--which was really trans overspeed internal
shows that codes are clues not diagnosis

Well the trans was shot. I found a local shop to install a new H&A transmission. 3yr UNLIMITED mileage warranty. Just got it back last night. Works perfect and I'm good for 3 years. This is the 5th transmission in my car; the original, two under warranty, and the last two I paid for.

1st tranny-stock 11/19/01
2nd tranny-38,803 11/16/02 Acura Warranty

4th tranny-140,903 7/18/06 Acura paid 25%
5th tranny-236,760 2/29/12 I paid
I've owned it since new. Detailed all the time. Car is perfect. When people see it they cannot believe it has over 236K miles on it.
