02 TL Bose

If this should be in Audio and Video, mods please move it. Acurazine would not let me log in on the off-topic page. It would say "Thanks for logging in" and then when it redirected, I was logged out.

My question is:

In my 02 TL-P, playing the radio simply doesn't sound good. All speakers buzz and sound distorted. My CD player is currently jammed (replacing it Friday), but playing an old tape sounds far better, but there is still an undercurrent of distortion. Also, if I use the controls and turn the sound up front, then to either the left or right speaker... the right sounds much stronger and clearer than the left. If I balance it, they sound the same. I know Bose often uses weird methods to make the music sound good, I'm just wondering if this happens to be one of them.

When it comes down to it, I'm starting to think there is a problem with the Bose system. I've heard a TL with the Bose system functioning normally and this just doesn't sound like it, especially playing the radio. If I still hear distortion when the CD player is replaced, will Acura replace Bose speakers under warranty (car only has 35k miles and is still under full warranty), or will they say I abused it?

I'd appreciate any advice aside from replacing the Bose with another brand. I realize a lot of people dislike Bose, but I'm not one of them. My home audio and computer audio are by Bose, and I've been extremely pleased and I intend to keep the TL's factory system. Replacing it with another brand is out of the question.

since you have an 02 why not take it to the dealer and let them swap it out for you under warrenty. the speakers and the sub are covered so just get them changed!

Thanks. Yeah, I was wondering if the speakers were covered or if they would insist that I must have blown them.

Depends on whether or not you blew them.

I didn't blow them... the weird thing is that it seems to be dependent on temperature or something. This morning when the car was first started it sounded pretty bad, but this afternoon when it was started it sounded fine. I'm wondering if it is simply poor radio reception or actually something wrong with the speakers.
