'01 with 107,000 tranny problem

I have a CL-S with 107,000 that has performed well except the brakes. Now, I am experiencing the same tranny problems that others had: slipping and sticking around 2nd and 3rd.

Does anyone have any experience or advise getting warranty coverage past 100K? I have one dealer say that Acura will cover the parts ($3K) but I have to pay labor ($540). I would much prefer to pay nothing! Can you imagine paying $3500?? I would sell the car if I could!

My check engine light came on, too. Did that happen to anyone when the tranny failed?

From: Miami - just one day, I would like to drive without getting cut off!
Sorry I don't have any advice for you but, I do have a question. How in the world can you rack up that many miles in such a short time. I bought my TL in July '01 and I've only got +11K miles. Granted I didn't drive it for 6 straight months but tha still would have brought me anywhere close to even 1/5 of the mileage you put on. Anyways good luck with getting your coverage.

My job -- industrial sales -- keeps me on the road, and in 5th gear most of the time. That is why my transmission lasted so long.

hell yea... pay the labor. I was just asking my Acura dealer what would happen if my tranny went out, (99 with 80K) and they said they'd try to help me a little bit, but I'm sure I'd have pay a fortune. Keep checking the dealerships though. I mean, you are 57000 miles out of warranty, so they technically dont have to do jack **** for ya!

Sounds like a fair deal to me. Pay the labor and move on.

DUDE Pay the Labor and be happy..

Dont get too greedy and go out looking for Free Parts and Labor for Tranny out of warranty..

Do the Job Before the stupid guy at Acura changes his mind after he finds out that after 100k Acura dont pay the Parts..

What a deal! $540 is a wonderful deal. I'd hit it.
