00' TL's Transmission failed again!!

After learning about the symptoms of a failed transmission: D5 flashing + TCS + Engine light on. I took my TL in for service a month ago. They are only willing to change the solenoids and the car worked find until today, the same symptoms poped back up.

I won't have the time to go screaming in their face to get me an entire transmission assembly replaced any time soon. How safe is it to drive it around? Right now, it's only with the check engine light on.

Exactly. Try taking it to a different dealership and see if they will replace it for you. Also, be sure to document that the dealership was willing only to replace the solenoids, in case something happens.

complain to acura customer service and accuse them of trying to get u to void the tranny warranty. that bascially is what they're doing. they will blame u for not bring it in.

Yeek... even with the extended warranty out, some dealers are giving you hassle. Hmm... Honda really should've recalled the tranny.

And they are rite.. you shouldn't drive it at all. You don't want it to completely fail on the fwy.

ouch... this makes me glad I have the 4-speed! But... didn't they do a warranty? They should have no problem in replacing the tranny, right?

They should replace it this time. With mine, there were no warnings, the thing just downshifted to 2nd @ 75mph and made me sh!t my pants (a figure of speech, fags). And this was two days after the 2nd trans was put in!!!

Goodbye slushbox, hello 6spd!
