Post 0-60 in 6.94secs today

Yesterday I made a run at 7.42 seconds with auto.
Today I did 6.94 with SS.
I think I could have done better cause I keep spinning the tires.

Would I be better off not punching it to avoid the tire spin?

Cool

Have you try brake-torque the car?? As TLS is the very first FWD I have ever own, I am not sure it this technique works at all, but it works well with my RWD S-Class...

Brake-torquing in fact works very WELL with the TL-S. I think Motortrend brake torque's all their auto cars while testing performance stats. That 6.94 seconds also has to do with street conditions, weather (was it very hot?) humidity, and reaction time. To achieve 6.28 isn't too far off, but you certainly have to be in the right conditions.

best i've been able to do right now is a 0-60 in 6.78sec with brake-torqueing, and i'm sure its because of the tires... i can feel them slipping even as i'm pulling out... i have headers installed, so they might be partially responsible =)... waiting for my new potenza re730's to come in any day now...

Unless you have at least 7500 miles on your engine, I would not consider the engine broken in enough for best performance.

To go faster, make sure you gas tank has just enough gas to do the 0-60 run. It makes a big difference than if you have a full tank of gas in your car.

All very good replies,

I'll add that to obtain maximum traction on our cheesy Micheline tires, I'd drop it into D1, apply enough throttle to gain a good launch w/ minimal squealing -- and then as soon as you feel the tires lock down, floor it and shift to D3. Doesn't harm the transmission any, but this method allows you to stay in 1st gear as long as you need to and continue to floor it again once you've gained traction (w/o prematurely shifting into 2nd gear). I have to give credit to Webtoker on acura-cl.com!
