I've had my shift knob since I got the car..anyone's "A" rub off the shift knob.. Mine is fading a little.

Just FYI I have almost 60k on my 99TL..Is that why??

Hmmm, mine doesn't have anything on my shiftknob. But most likely due to wear and tear it will rub off unless it is engraved or something.

Wink

dude, you have to stop polishing your knob, that's all...

Maybe you can take it to a place that does wood engraving and have them etch and gold-fill or black-stain the logo on the wood shifter. That might look interesting.

I was thinking about putting some kind of clear protectant/clearcoat? Do you guys know anything that will help to protect the 'A?' I've seen it faded before and so want to prevent that. if i was to apply it though, i'd only apply it to that A because i like the natural shine that the rest of the knob it came with.

There an A on the shift knob??

My '01 is the leather type on its as plain as Jane... Maybe I got someone's used shift knob with the A already rubbed off!

Just Me, they are talking about the wood shift knob. The leather one doesn't have one.

When I was test driving the car, the sales man said his wife's ring scratched the wood knob all the time. They went back to Acura and Acura swapped theirs for a new one. I know he's internal to Acura, but its worth a shot...their excuse was it looks bad, and Acura has this thing about looks...
