In need of new struts for ‘06 RL. Am at almost 98,000 miles on the car.
Are there specific struts manufacturers to choose for an Acura? What have you gone with?
Another thread suggested rockauto.com.
Can I get by with just replacing the fronts?
Wondering if my mechanic would be ticked off if I buy them online and take them to him to install and then do the alignment.

Thanks much!!
Oem or kyb, don't buy anything else. Ask your mechanic if he will replace parts if you bring them.
Awesome thank you, again, deepa1600!!! Will Do. I saw kyb on the rockauto site. Are they available only online?
I think you can buy from rockauto or Amazon. You might ask your local auto parts store. Personally i would go with either oem or kyb. KYB also makes oem shocks for many Honda/Acura products, not sure about RL if the oem is kyb.
So good to know that KYB makes parts for Honda/Acura. Thank you! I am going to go with KYB. I stopped at my mechanic’s today. Yes, he will install if I bring my own parts. However, the labor would not be under warranty. So for peace of mind, I’m going to have him order.
A rock from a big rig hit my windshield this afternoon and caused a crack. So now I have to call Safelite see about getting that repaired or replaced. :-/
Thank you!! I’ve chosen to have the mechanic order it from his vendor so that his labor will be under warranty. In the end, it will be less hassle if comes to needing to be replaced.
