Damaged Devolutions
My devolutions 1fp’s damaged severely !!!!!!
Yesterday I dropped off my 05 RL to have the A-spec suspension installed. Today while driving to pick up my vehicle the service consultant called and asked me how much would it cost to replace my rims? At first I thought is were a joke but when the conversation continued I realized he was deadly serious. When I arrived to the dealer my fears was realized. They tried to use a high-speed buffer to remove the stains however it didn’t work.
The dealership understood their terrible error and is willing to do whatever is necessary to get the rims back to their original condition. Since it was around 4 pm they didn’t have any RL’s available for loan so I requested the newest TL. After a couple of minutes they rolled a 06 TL with 4 miles on it for I can drive until we get resolution of this horrible occurrence. I contacted RONJON and told him I would like him to restore the rims. Of course the dealership agrees and steps to get my rims back on the RL is in the works. Keep you all posted on the progress.

Spoke with your Dealer, Def some stand up guys. He admitted the mistake and hid nothing. He said the dumb guy who did the damage to the wheel (who is paying for his crime) literaly used some sort of ACID on the wheel and that it might not be repairable, but that you were a good customer and he would rather pay to replace them or have them sent back to see what can be done, but that he wants to give you back the wheels the way you gave them to him. He said the Acid that was mistakenly used would have ate thru even powdercoated wheels or OEM ones for that matter. I was surprised that he even got them semmi polished after that stuff. Who knows, maybe an industrial polishing machine can get them back to new. Now that would prove the resiliancy of polished aluminum.
We will try to see what can be done to salvage the wheel, and replace them on behalf of the dealer if needed. Don't worry, at least you can have them clearcoated now. Def post pics, I would like to see what the chemicals did to the wheel.

1- it is not a horrible occurence. a horrible occurence would be if you were drivng on the highway and someone hit you and your car flipped and then got hit by other cars and you became paralized.
2- it is obvious that they want to make ti right and are willing to fix the problem by replacement if need be so why get stressed out oover it? accidents happen and unlike most of the time, the people who caused this accident are willing to own up to it. be thankful for that

Actually keeping it in perspective I was surprisingly calm when I saw my rims. The service consultant and the repair manager were in shock being I didn’t “go off the chain”. In my line of work this is a very, very minor. Nobody was injured and hopefully RONJON can return my rims back to me in the original condition or better.
Well the rims will be shipped tomorrow for restoration or replacement.

Ok, spoke with your guy and I've having him ship them to our warehouse. I will personally deliver them to my Polishign guy in NY and also have my Powdercoated throw on an extremely durable coat of clear powdercoat that will ultimatly preserve the wheels in mirror polished state. In the end, these wheels will never need to be polished again, and will be more durable than any paint or OEM wheel in the market today, including Chrome finishes.
