Confusion
Hey guys. I am really confused about the RL fitment. It is harder than usual to get wheels for this car.
I found a set of rims that I am looking to purchase tonight. My question is the size is
19x8.5 5x120. What offset do I look at?
Usually these rim stores say they can fit your car then, all of a sudden it wouldnt.

Stock offset is +55 on 8.0 inch rims, but offset is only part of the whole story.
Over the months, what I have gathered is that the other part of the story is clearance for the front brake calipers, which is chronicled in early fitment issues with the RonJon Legends. First designed with a +45mm offset, he had to add a 3mm spacer so that it would clear the RL front brake calipers. Subsequent production runs have a +41mm offset. The original production run fit the other 5x120 Honda OK (Ridgeline, Odyssey) but not the RL.
So it is the spacing from the mounting surface to the back of the spokes that makes the difference, and you would have to work with the manufacturer to make sure, and even more importantly, make sure you have a return option if the wheels do not fit...
Examples of offset are kind of all over the map:
Acura Stock wheel 17x8 +55 mm
Acura A-Spec wheel 18x8 +55 mm
BBS RE, 18x8.5;19x8.5 +48 mm
Enkei SCO-5 18x8 +45 mm
5zigen SC3000 19x8.5 +38 mm
AME Tracer FS-01 18x8; 19x8.5 +40 mm
Others not listed....can be found by search....
As I understand it, while the RL seems to have a good amount of suspension clearance, remember that all things being equal, if you increase the width of the wheel, you want to decrease the offset by about half the amount of the wheel width increase so you don't have the inside of the tires too close to the suspension arms risking rubbing. So if you go 8.5 inches wide from stock 8.0 inches wide, the 0.5 inch is approximately equal to 13mm, and half of that is 6 or 7 mm. This means you want to decrease offset from 55mm to 49 or less. But because of the big brake calipers, that general rule does not always work.
Also, wheel makers tend to make their wheels universal, that is, by using different bolt pattern, and some kind of centering ring to customize hub size, they can produce the same wheel for many cars. The RL is not exactly a market force, so I think the big brake caliper clearance is not always in the forefromt of any manufacturer's design decisions. So manufacturers may choose an offset that is more compatible with many cars rather than just the RL, which is why you get lower offsets with many wheels. The high offset design of the RL (and most other Hondas) means that at some point, the lower offset will become put additional stress on the wheel bearings.
You must rely on the manufacturer for fitment info, and the retailer for return policy. That is my 2 cents

no, i do not currently have those wheels, i am using the chrome a-spec's for winter and going with some 19's in spring and these are 1 of the 3 i have narrowed it down too..i love these also and the color shown in the pics are chrome silver, but as you can see in the last real life pic it's actually not that chrome, and i think would look sick on any dark colored RL's

nice wheels, but not my style. My heart is set on split spoke wheels. I got a quote from Works. The T1s will be 2400$ and will take 2-3 months
