Max's 05 RL build.

Got the car a month ago and been taking care of all the little mods. Plans are air suspension and wheels. Dont know if ima do 19's or 20's.

No lip, 19"s. With lip, 20"s.

I'm curious as to why you would suggest 19's without lip, and 20's with?

Not that it matters to me, I like it either way.

When the spokes go all the way to the edge of the wheel, you get a sense of their real size. When there is a lip, it is practically impossible to see the entire spoke. You would have to be perfectly perpendicular to the bore in order to do so. Because of this, there is an illusion that makes a lipped wheel seem smaller. Kind of the same way a larger wheel makes the car seem to sit higher even though the radius of the tire is unchanged. (3G TL guys call that 4x4 status because they don't understand math. )

IMO, lipped wheels are old news anyway, and concave is the new style. Still, since I don't buy wheels, no one should really care what I think.

Well put. Thanks for the in depth explanation. I will say I agree with what you said about the different looks and illusions, but I dont think lip'd wheels are over. I think concave wheels are a bit of a faze. Only time will tell.

BTW, why dont you buy wheels?

They are a faze, but deep dish wheels are going on 20 years now.

I don't buy wheels b/c I spend too much money on diapers and hospital bills.

Very nice work with the S65 bumper cover, it flows nicely with the rest of the body. Car looks great with those wheels too.

That lip is the best I've seen. Would love to get something similar. Could you give me an idea of how much it would be to have one of those made? Also, which airtekk bags do you have? I checked their site and I didn't see anything compatible with the RL or Legend KB1, only KA7.
Thanks

Website is in the process of being updated. I have the normal airstruts that you would get to fit your vehicle with accuair switchspeed. And the bumper cost me almost 1500 between getting the amg bumper getting it made and paint.
