I decided to start a thread to show my car from stock to where ever it the mod fever takes me. Just upgraded this from 2001 Audi A4 and so far, no check engine light!! I was planning on ordering a lot of my parts and getting it installed during spring but I got impatient and since it looks like snow hasn't even been a factor here in Boston, I decided to get started.

My car is going in the shop next coming weekend and I will have everything done minus the rims.....rims is a delicate process lol. Let me know what you guys think and I'll be posting pics when I get my car is back!

springs amigo? go with coils you will be happy you went with coils.

aspec kit if you find it you will be very lucky. i tried getting aspec kit last year and it was discontinued everywhere i went.

But things may have changed around for you. but overall nice car. .

Your car is looking good. very clean car. i don't know how you guys keep your cars soo clean in boston. btw i got a set of stock rl wheels powdercoated black fresh. tires haven't been mounted on these yet.. pract brand new if you interested.

 

It's like 35%? Its a matte finish and I am going back to change it to gloss. I am planning on making it lighter so I can see more of the tail light! Make sure they cut out the reverse tail lights because it will look more stock and less likely get pulled over! No problems so far!

Only reason I am going springs is because my car has 40K on it and if I get coilovers, I prob won't get rims till next year...I figured why not just spend some small change and get rims now and when the shocks go, I'll just upgrade...hopefully by then, I'll have 1.8k for teins!

 

My bad! It was last min since I was originally supposed to be in the shop this weekend...since my kit didn't arrive, I decided to go to the mini meet...Next time, I'll def PM you! Also about the wheels, your bro told me about them...he said $800? I would but I plan on getting my summer rims soon...gotta save....sikee

 

haha not 800, $500. and its yours. wheels were shipped to california to be get powdercoated professionally in black. they also come with tpms sensors on the wheels. boxed and have receipt. centercaps are powdercoated as well. went all out on these. lol

 

Tempting! I was thinking of doing that to my current rims so I can use it for winter...Send me some pics! I prob will get it...just gotta figure out how to sell the stock haha

You are the man thank you. You think Tim could do me on just the front lip? I'm not gonna spend $1300 right now. Especially with the $500 I just spent on pads, rotors, and SS lines, and LED lighting. $405 is a killer deal.

Tim is the online parts manager of oemacuraparts.com (Acura of Peoria). You can get any single part, including under body spoilers, through him or online. That's where I got my diff and trans fluids, but didn't know about free shipping. Still less than the dealer here w/ tax though.

You could sell the set on Craigslist for $100 like eyi did. I don't think they lasted a day. You should be able to get $400 easy. I think there are refinish shops that may buy them as well.

 

Didn't know you were a Giants fan...or else I wouldn't have been so helpful hahah...anyways, just call Tim up to order the front underbody..to get free ship, your order needs to be over $500 (SPYHUNTER). If you own 05 RL, you won't find the front spoiler since they list the 06-08 kits...but we both know that it will fit on the 2005. I'll PM you the part number for the 2005 front underbody

THe angels eyes look sweet. How much that little mod run you James? May be something I'm interested in. Bodyshop do it? If so, how many days were you out of your car?

 

I decided to go with led halo from oracle..they had to measure out my lenses to find a kit that worked with our headlights. I'll ask my guy on what the specs were and share it with you guys...the reason I didn't go with CCFL is because they will break. No questions...4 days total but that's also because I told him to take his time to do it right..if you do halo, it'll def take longer but you're looking at around 4 days. I am lucky that I found a shop and Brian who does custom work. I wouldn't throw these projectors to autobody shops..try to find some shops that do performance jobs and just ask around!

My headlight is a mockup for now but for the most part, that's gonna be the end result. He left the oem housing code color since its unique and painting it all black would make it cheap looking...

 

TY sir. THe only performance shop I know of is a f******* rip off. They tried quoting me $500 to install springs on my car. I told them I'll find another place. Guy called me back same day and said he'd do it for $350. Too late. Had them put on for $300 cash. It's tough where I live to find a good shop like this. This sucks.

haha looks awesome. brian is only one of the few people i trust to do custom work, my headlights are going to be re-done soon. way better and cost less then getting jdm ones. ps when you going to pick up those wheels?

Got the car back! Still got to get multibox installed which can control brightness/strobe/fade...etc on halo. Underlight puddle light are setup and ready to be wired tomorrow and custom exhaust installing on thurs! Deciding to keep chrome trims except the front since it actually looks better with the kit =)

Those halos are an interesting look. Are they setup to be your DRLs? Are they automatically turned on, or is there a switch? Do they stay on with the low beams?

Since I designed my DRL/fog switch, I am interested in what controlling it.

It is setup with my parking lights....After driving with it overnight, I am going to see if he can hook it up to my DRL. So I turn the halo on by turning my parking lights and it stays on with the low beams. It doesn't look bad but the low and halo don't match as well as I wanted which is why I am going to see if I can get him to wire it to the DRL. I had the option of hooking it straight to the battery so I can control it with a remote and turn it on or off whenever I wanted...but I might forget it one day so the safest way was to just hook it to the parking lights for now.

I've to agreed with 007Spy it's a interesting look and unique of coarse but the Acura logo has not grow on me. The color and car look nice tho. I'd paint the inner of the front grill and extend your exhaust tips if I were you.

 

I haven't even shown you what the logos do yet =P

When I get my muffler installed tomorrow, I plan on having it sit out a little bit...later this sat, I plan on vinyling the chrome piece on the front grille...pretty much the opposite of what you have..I had Brandon photoshop it for me and it looked good.

I'll post a video of what my logo really does and maybe an exhaust clip if I like the sound haha

 

I am interested to see what y'all can come up with. The DRLs run on an AC 4Vpp signal riding on a 2V offset. The only thing I could come up with was a low pass filter into a npn BJT setup as a common emitter.

 

looks good, i didnt think the halos would look good but they are unique and stands out. just not my taste. but its yours right. same color as mine, i just need to step up on the game a bit. i have to say though the tinted fogs should have been dont with film instead of spray. you should think of that. also do those emblems light up. if so dam.

and when doing the headlight mod, what was the red light behind it. would have looked good if they did this

Tail light is a matte black tint..getting it retinted to gloss!!
The red behind the halo is something the installer did as a "trick"...idk how he did it..as for the red halo..I wanted them but red and blue are emergency colors so I would never run them anyways...so I just stuck with one colored halo...

Yes, logo lights up...I'll upload vids on the logo and muffler soon!

 

We gotta meet up one day when this is done so I can check it out. I want to do a lot of the same things (plans are-a spec kit, springs, a spec wheels, custom headlights, exhaust, spoiler, maybe cf interior, and a few other things). I can't find any shops I trust/know in the area, do you have any hookups?
