Jay,

let me be the first one to say, I LOVE IT!! Dude, I am looking forward to getting mine installed!! I am now in the process of looking for tires.... I can't find the Yokos locally. I might have to go with Bridgestones, BFG or Toyos... We'll see!! Again, she looks DAMN good!!!!!!

Congrats!

Hey Roy! Thanks man! The pics don't do it justice, it's even purtier in person. Just ran to Schucks to order locks for it (stock ones won't work on these rims). TIP: Be cautious with what you use to remove the lugs. I used a metal one and it scratched. The guy from Schucks thought the car was sweet though!

Wow Jay, car is looking HOT !. I love the lip on the rim. They look perfectly flush with the fenders and the tires look really meaty !. I think you are the 1st RL with these wheels installed in the US . Did you decide on what suspension you are going with ?.

Yeah, the rims are really nice looking. It's much more aggressive looking now that they are out to the fenders.

I think you are the 1st RL with these wheels installed in the US .
I think 5Zigen needs to make me their official US Acura RL representative! lol...

Did you decide on what suspension you are going with ?.
I'm still thinking. I don't want to give up too much ride, so the A-Spec is very tempting. At the same time, I'd like to step out to something different. What are your thoughts on it?

I think 5zigen should make you there official spokesperson also, LOL!.

Suspension is tough, but we are lucky there are alot of choices . I was doing some research on various springs when I was deciding and the rs*r springs were my favorite. They have a similar spring rate to the oem springs, so the ride quality will be very similar to stock. Also the springs in the ti2000 series (titanium) reduce the suspension's unsprung weight, while at the same time giving you a nice even drop. The Espelir springs also are very nice if the rs*r's are too low for you, similar spring rates to stock (a tad softer than the rs*r's and not as low of a drop (1-1.25").

SCHWEEEET!

How much would the rs*r's drop it? I don't want to go too much, but lowering (as your pic shows) just makes the car look awesome!

Touge,
that is the look I'm looking for! Nice PShop job by the way!

Jay,
which tire width did you decide on? I could not find it anywhere - 245/40 or 255/40??

EDIT--------------------never mind I found it!!! You went with 255/40......

Thanks,

hey, how come I didn't know about the Espelir springs! I personally think the rs*r is perfect. I just hope that the stock shocks can hold up for a long time. My 2000 TL had comptech springs (about 1.5 inches lowered) and stock socks and it was still holding up just fine after 6 years...

Nice job, Jay!

Now all you need is to lower the car a little and you're set.

So, 1" drop on the rs*r's. That's exactly what I'm looking for.... Next purchase is in line, shipping from Japan is going to hurt....

Nice Jason, you will be the 1st with these springs outside of Japan. The drop I think is bit more than 1", more like 1.6" I'd say based on the pics I've seen of there springs on Legends. Which is about what I dropped your car in the Photoshop pic

I updated a pic or two, will re-do the main pics when the rain stops here in Seattle. Had a road trip for Easter weekend to Spokane to see family and must say I had a blast in the RL. Was well over 100 going through Snoqualmie with some nice curves and such. The new wheels/tires held up like a champion.

Jay,

Your car look sharp and I love those 19" wheel on your car.

Questions for you:

1) How much did you pay for it and where is a good place to buy?
2) Did you have TPMS sensors installed on those wheels and what size of the tire?
3) If you have a flat tire, can you use the OEM spare tire?

Thanks,

Hey man, thanks for the comment.

To answer your q's:

1. I ultimately ended up getting them from Discount Tire. With shipping charges, mounting, balancing, etc...it made the most sense. They may have problems finding the rims since they are not a "normal" purchase. They will also try to have you increase the offset on them, don't. Buy the +38. All total I think I paid $2700 installed or something around there. That includes tires (obviously)

2. I bought the TPMS sensors from Ebay at $35 a pop. Discount will charge you double that. However, the sensors do not fit properly on these rims, so it took the guy 4-5 hours to get the rims on the car. Usually a 30 min job. I'm just glad they were willing to do it and not charge me extra. You may just want to bite the bullet and buy their TPMS sensors which are made for plus sizes. The tires are 255/40/19. Yokohama Advan S4's. I'm loving the tires, I'm thrilled with the choice.

3. I haven't tested it, but it should work without a problem.

Off set +38. Why not the off set 40 or more. The OEM is 55. right.

Sorry for the late response, I was out of town. YES, I'm using OEM TPMS sensors with my 5Zigen rims. The guy at discount told me I would have been better off using their TPMS sensors and that they would work no problem and fit much better than the OEM's...

Thanks man. Yep, never to old to enjoy a little modding! Now, we just need to get that group buy done on the rs*r springs and I'll have it lowered.

Ok, after a hiatus (and getting settled back in Vegas), it's time to start modding again. Thanks to Touge for the Underdrive Pulley that i'll be getting put on in the next couple weeks, looking forward to the acceleration change. Next mod after that is springs. I'm disappointed we never got the 4 for our group buy on those RsR's. Regardless, car needs LOWERED.... More to come...

Well, the unorthodox racing pulley is officially installed. What an amazing difference on the low end torque of the car. I'd post pictures, but since I had a shop install it there's really nothing to show. Just one more mod to go and the car will be done....MUST be lowered. Much of my attention is now going to my NEW RL, that being a Red Line Saturn Sky..... It goes in tomorrow for upgraded exhaust and a stage 2 intercooler....

Jay, did you have the undredrive pulley or the stock-sized pulley installed? How long did it take and how much did they charge? Are you sure there's more low-end torque or do you feel the engine spooling easier?
