Happy new year to me, just picked up a 2011 CPO Acura RL in Graphite Luster with black interior. I had to fly 360 miles and drive back in the same day but it was worth it. Although it is similar to the 2006, it drives completely different.
My impressions:
Steering feel, I like my 06 better. This has more vibrations, something I will get used to.
Gas pedal is stiffer, not a big deal.
Suspension is between aspec and stock on my 06. I like it, aspec was too stiff and bouncy for me. Still pretty flat on turns.
USB music and back up camera is a big plus.
Just need to tint, add some leds and I am good to go.
I own a 2011 RL myself, I got mine with the Advance package. The color is actually called "Graphite Luster Metallic". I actually feel less vibration on my 2011 RL, as opposed to my 2005 RL. 007 is probably right; motor mounts. Enjoy the car, make sure to share your thoughts. I love hearing from people who have a similar interest in late model 2G RLs, similar to mine.
Beautiful car. The updates make it SO much nicer the earlier one you had.
How do you like the back up camera? Compared to my Lexus, my Acura backup seems like it is from 1987. I haven't been in a new RL like yours, so I don't know if its ugly and grainy.
The backup camera is ok, not so good at night. I am going to test some led reverse lights one day and see if it helps, my local shop will let me test before I buy since its such an easy install.
Infiniti has one of the best back up cams out there, too bad ours is not like that.
