My DVD unit is coming up with error message "Navigation unit door is open or No DVD disc installed. Please check system" I have pulled it apart and cleaned the dvd laser and i still get the same error message.

Will a KB2 drive drive work in a KB1 07 Acura RL?.

I was hoping someone might of have tried and installed a KB2 DVD drive into a KB1 RL before?.

I have attached images of my KB1 drive (purple sticker green connections) KB2 (green sticker grey connections)

 

If anyone has used a KB2 DVD drive in a KB1 RL before & it worked then please let me know asap because I can get one at a much cheaper price thank you

I use eBay & get parts from Australia or from America or ring the wreckers. I am a diesel mechanic so I do it myself as well it’s good lol.

 

which local wreckers has stock at the moment? looking for a creame colored glove box

 

Got no idea mate? you have to ring around & be patient. Good wreckers will tell you on their system which wreckers in the country have the parts you’re after & then you go from there. Try eBay worldwide & type Acura rl glovebox

you have to build a new Cabletree or make an adapter to change the Unit that way. It is easier when you swap the CPU Board inside the Nav Unit. It is basically the same exept the newer Firmware.

I've tested it once with Unit from a Civic but it had less features so I builded it back. But it Works.

 

I bought a 2009 dvd drive on accident and only 1 plug fit which I believe is the antenna. I have a 2005 RL so no the plugs are all completely different.
