What is the best current I-pod interface with an Aux input?
What is the best current I-pod interface with an Aux input?
I've been using a USA Spec PA15-HON2 with my last two Accords. Unfortunately it is not compatible with the RL. I called USA Spec and they make a model for the RL, PA15-ACUxl. According to the manual it plugs into the XM receiver in the trunk. Then I will have to run the Ipod and Aux cables to the center arm rest. That doesn't sould like much fun.
Are there any other units I should consider?

So what would you guys recommend if I want the artists and songs to display on the navi screen? I guess the USA Spec PA15-HON2 might work but won't display any information. It sounds like the PA15-ACUxl will display information.
The ACUxl will display pretty much all the information on screen. Are you planning on using your iPhone with this unit? If not, what's wrong with leaving the iPod in the trunk? I have a trunk organizer where my iPod sits safely in the trunk since I use my phone for audio elsewhere
I only use an Ipod not an Iphone. I have 11,000 songs on it and it isn't organized as well as it should be. With the PA15 I used the ipod to search and select songs. If the search interface is good using the ACUxl then I will leave the ipod in the trunk. I work for a Honda dealer. The 2012 and newer Pilots work awesome to search through the ipod. Whenever I drive one of those I don't touch the ipod at all. I don't need to. With other interfaces I have used it takes for ever to search and is next to impossible with 11,000 songs.
Also, I would like the AUX input to be in the armrest. That way I can use a device when I want to to stream Pandora, Sirius online, etc.

Running the USA spec line from the trunk to the center console is not that hard. It's not the prettiest, but it works. Run it from the unit in the trunk through the rear seat center tunnel, under the rear seat, down to the floor and then up through the center console. The rear seats come out remarkably easy (search on it, there's a video somewhere on the board) just two clips in the front of the rear seat. I'd say, it's much easier than pulling the head unit out. The only place you see the wire is running down from the rear seat to the floor, floor mat covers the rest of it.
Full iPod functionality, internet streaming from pandora, no change to screen. You just lose one xm satellite screen, but who really uses xm anymore.

I still use XM but I can still use it with the ACuxl. I just lose one set of presets. Running the cable to the center console is gonna suck but I can handle it.
I guess the ACuxl is the best option. I haven't found anything else yet that equals or bests it.

I am digging up an old thread.
I recently bought the new HTC One M9. I plan on getting a 64gb/128gb micro sd card so I can fit all my music that is on my Ipod classic.
Am I better off getting an Ipod or Android (Grom) adapter at this point? I never bought one and I really miss being able to play my music in my car.

Grom has an adapter that can handle both android and ipod. Honda Acura 03+ USB Android iPod Bluetooth AUX adapter
I don't really care about bluetooth streaming. Having the usb cable connected doesn't bother me.
Now the only question is does this work if you have XM and navigation? Does it display any text on screen?
