I am hard wiring a radar detector and want to put the little pod under the dash by the steering column. Can someone tell me what is behind this little cover? This is a small louvered cover under the right side of the steering column. Will it hurt if I cover this up? I attached a picture to this thread.

that is the intake for the Heater/AC temperature sensor
There's a small fan behind it

Covering it up would mess up the temperature controls
