USA-Spec malfunction?

Whats the likelyhood these things stop working? Is it a common issue? Im almost sure it stopped workinng but not sure for certain. Ive had it for just over 6 months... theres no warranty on these? I really hope i dont have to buy a new one, pretty frustrating if so and considering this one may have kicked the bucket after under a year, I'm not sure I will, any help or input is greatly appreciated. Im running the Bt45-hon with xmTuner fyi....
Thanks in advance 😩
P.S. maybe its my phone?

You probably have already done this, but I would check the BT45 FAQ page at: BT45 FAQ and Troubleshooting

When you say stopped working, what do you mean? Is it the BT45? Where did you buy it from?

uh well it stopped doing what it does.... wouldnt connect on startup and then wouldnt connect when selected from the list. So then I unpaired it n then it wouldnt show up in discovery mode when trying to re(pair) it.... I bought it from Ship Sound on amazon... they offer a 1 year warranty on all they sell so Im in the process of doing an exchange.... Im wondering if extreme temps played a role (weather) I had it velcroed to the inside rear panel by the XMtuner... maybe ill try tucking this next one more towards the inner trunk.....

I had mine in the inner trunk lining for 4 years under hot and cold extremes until I relocated it to inside the car, and I never had any issues Then again, electronics are picky so it's entirely possible.

I know it doesn't help but isn't Acura RL suppose to have "BT45-ACU" i read on their site that BT45-HON is for honda vehicles. I am looking for a unit aswell but i don't have XM in my car and i am from Canada. By the way have you tried resetting the unit?

^^^^ According to my understanding the only thing different between the two unit is that BT45-Acu let you keep the live traffic in your navi and BT45-Hon won't let you keep that feature.

I am not an avid xm user and i don't have xm option in my car so theoretically bt4t-hon should work i think. And i prefer google for traffic updates.

Check that your connection is good. I ordered first unit which I happened to have a different issue with so I replaced it, but at the first install I connected all successfully, and for life I could not make it work. I went ahead and carefully unplugged all and re-plugged everything in making sure all connections were firmly IN.
Perhaps there is a disconnect due to loose connection?

In your case either of them will work. I never use the live traffic updates because most of the time its inaccurate anyway (even one from google), Road show as orange but when I got there the traffic flow smooth avg 30-45 mph.
