Tints and radar

Does anybody know what material is used on the tint band across the top of the windshield? Also, the darker, "bubbly" area around the rear view mirror. Will either of these tints diminish radar detector performance? I'm looking to mount one high. I have an '09 RL. Thanks.

I mounted my V1 to the left of the mirror, found that you have to be outside of the black specs for the suction cups to work on the glass...

My V1 is actually suctioned TO the tint and peeks just below the tint. Same as I had with my CL. No affect on signal or mounting. I also have limo tint (as dark as legal here in Fla) on my back window and it doesn't affect the rear radar det antenna at all. Just DONT get metallic tinting if you have a V1.

Before, I had my CLs rear window tinted as light as possible so it wouldnt affect the rear antenna on the V1, but it didn't matter. Just a waste of tint. Should have gone as dark as possible.
