Is the RL remote door unlock unique?

My wife loves that she can unlock the door on her RL without having to take the FOB out of her purse. Are there any other cars that have this door handle feature?

Answering my own question : ) The TL with the technology package has Keyless Access System. And the BMW 3 series and 5 series have the comfort access keyless entry.

As does the ZDX. I never take my fob out of my pocket to unlock, lock or start the car and my wife leaves hers in her purse. No fumbling around in the dark.

Lexus has this as well.

I think the only "unique" thing about the RL one is that the LOCKING part of it is just a touch on the outer door handle and not an actual button on the handle.

This is both a cool and a bad thing. Cool that it is unique in that it is a touch sensor with no button... but bad because of all the issues with it like triggering accidentally and continuously when wet (i.e. rain or car washing), and all the faulty door hand replacements, etc.

No big deal to press the button on the fob to unlock your car as you approach after a rain or a wash, right? If it rained and it unlocked itself, THAT would be bad.

The Corvette has had this feature since 2005. It's more advanced because it will lock the car for you after you get out and walk away. It's pretty stupid that Honda makes you push the button to lock the car.

It's pretty stupid to lock your car every time you walk away without any input.
