Hi,

recently upgraded to a Moto RIZR V3. Had no trouble pairing the phone, signal strength shows fine, battery shows one bar too few but that's cool. My old Nokia didn't show any info so this is a welcome improvement.

The problem is that about 1 out of 2 times when I start the car HFL will tell me it found a new phone and asks if I want to set it up now. Oddly it only shows the 'later' option, perhaps because the engine is running, not sure. I've tried entering bogus datalink information as my T-Mobile to-go plan doesn't include PPP AFAIK.

Does anyone know what's up? I searched for 'RIZR' but I seem to be the first to post about it. "a new phone has been found" is not search term the forum deals with very well so no relevant hits were given there either.

RAZR would probably work better

 

First I thought you meant I should have bought a RAZR instead of my RIZR but now I think you meant I mis-spelled it. Not so. The RIZR is actually a phone.

 

I used a moto v551 on att network for the past 1+ years w/ no problems.

just paired at v3 razr on att with same problem as noted with rizr.

any thoughts re: how to stop it constantly asking to set up datalink?

(have no data service on either phone and don't want to set up link)

 

It also took a lot of effort to pair my RIZR with my PC. PIN wouldn't authenticate. Finally I got the latest rev phonetools software and it was able to authenticate. Pretty weird. Luckily no trouble with my bt stereo headset, the reason I bought this phone. Pretty sweet being able to go to the gym and only carry in a phone, no MP3 player. Wireless headset is nice too.

I hope someone knows how to get this issue resolved. I'm almost at the point of calling Acura :-)

 

I thought you had mis-spelled RAZR V3 insead of meaning RIZR Z3 - oh well, I had a 50-50 chance... My bad.

The RIZR Z3 is not even mentioned on the HFL mini-site.

 

I just upgraded to a Razr V3XX from a V551 and am having the same problem. It's annoying to have to keep hitting the button before dricing. The V551 never had this proble. Has anyone found a solution yet?

 

ok, at least I'm not the only one with this issue :-) Misery loves company. I haven't called Acura yet, I suppose that's the next step.

 

after several days, the car stopped asking if I wanted to set up a new phone. I swtiched from a moto v511 to a razr v3 (cingular). hopefully others will have the same luck.
