Real Time traffic Activation.

How do i know if i have real time traffic on the RL. I currently have XM on the car and if i hit the traffic option on the navigation it brings up a list of areas that have road conditions. Is this different from realtime traffic? Does the real time noramlly pop up on the screen and i have the option to divert?

Real-time Traffic flow shows up on the map as green, yellow, red lines on the highways. You have to have your zoom scale set in a arange that shows the flow.
When you change the zoom, you should see a scale that indicates the range in which traffic flow will show.

Your traffic icons may be turned off. Voice command: Display Traffic, and see if you get the traffic display bar from about 1/2 mile to 10 or 25 miles scale (can't remember off the top of my head since I usually use 1 mile scale...
