RDS on FM?
RDS on FM?
I just purchased '07 RL and cannot figure out how to get the RDS (song title, artist) to display when listening to FM radio. Is it possible that a car this sophisticated was not designed to display this?
The RL doesn't do RDS. No Honda/Acura vehicles do as far as I know. It's kind of odd since it seems like something that would be so easy to add. GM vehicles have come with RDS since the late 90's. I guess Honda just has just decided it's not that important to their customers. I only listen to the radio for sports talk during the NFL season so it doesn't bother me.
I think that mine have RDS, because it shows station names, it changes frequency if needed, maybe that title of the song and artist depends how those stations send data on their transmissions.

I don't know when they started having RDS in Acura's but it was available in my 2010 ZDX and now my ILX. It would be in the stereo menu if it is available but I know it wasn't available in my 2007 RDX or 2008 RDX.

If you want to buy it, soundhound is the way to go.
You get all the info, the lyrics, and you can save the info or buy it right there.
Having it on your radio wont give you that convenience.

I have Soundhound, but fiddling with phone while driving is not good - not to buy on the spot but bringing up the app and starting it.

I haven't used it for an entire song. I prefer Pandora.
