I have not seen an adapter that will leave a blank Double DIN space for an aftermarket head unit. That's not to say it isn't available, but the trim with the nav is all one piece. Considering the interface of the head unit with the nav screen, I don't think it is worth it. After finding a unit that is compatible with all of the other features and fits the trim, you will be spending $$$. There are multiple options to integrate AUX. USA Spec, Mediabridge, and Music Link all come to mind for less than $150.

Cheaper to buy the USA spec and the oem aux port plug that goes in the armrest. That way it'll look factory if thats what you're going for.

Acura made the Music Link to interface with your current head unit to do exactly that. Still, I agree with L that the USA Spec is the best deal b/c of the nav screen integration. The Mediabridge is nice b/c of BT streaming.

i'm in the process of figuring out this HU swap.... I got 07+ HU(AUX) and '11(with USB) HU... for 2009 and up you'll need to get that $300 USB unit... but for everything else, you'll prob. need to get the whole dash harness, unless you know how to hook up 4 wires to connect the AUX... I've got the shop manuals for both 05-08 RL and 09+ RL....

I thought aux is just another plugged wire goes directly to the back of the radio unit, plan outta my head was run the aux wire under the shifter to the console box like the factory one ....guess I can't do that.
