Quick and easy way to run amp power wire through firewall

Like many of you out there I was very hesitant about drilling through the firewall and having to paint and seal it under such a confined space in order to run an amp power wire to my trunk. I searched quite a bit online to see if there was an alternative to drilling, perhaps an existing hole that was not utilized. I eventually ending up on cardomain.com and checked out other Acura RLs that have added an amp and sub to their system. I stumbled across "farabeast's Acura RL" page and low and behold there it was.

As described by farabeast, "Through this opening the wire doesn't go straight into the engine bay, but rather it goes into a frame rail and after a few inches exits to the right into the engine bay. The hole on the engine bay side is slightly smaller, so anything larger than 4g may not clear it with room for a rubber grommet. The wire in the photo is just the wire used to fish the 4g wire."

Hopefully that makes a lot of your installs just that much easier.

you can prob fit a 2 gauge (which is very uncommon) through there but the hole in the engine bay you go through is very tight and prob 4 gauge be the max

You just saved me hours of pain and thinking (more pain)! I need to do this for my soon to be laser jammer and a few other goodies going in the trunk. I'm hoping this carried over through the MMC.

just make sure you use a circuit breaker and distro block, that way you have one wire through the car to the trunk.
