Cool Nav/Climate Control glitches

Hi guys,

Long time former member here (sold my 07 TL-S in 2017 and got out of the Acura world until just recently but needed a new account here).

I purchased an 05 Acura RL but there's been a few glitches with the electronics. The climate control fan blows fast and slow and seems to pulsate like that for a while. Sometimes it shuts off and restarts on it's own. On top of that, the nav screen doesn't always turn on. Sometimes it does but asks for a code and sometimes it works just fine but for the most part, I can't use the HFL as it says "system locked, what is the 4 digit passcode".

I wonder if the DVD unit in the trunk needs to be replaced. I'm taking to the dealer later this week but because of the Canada Day long weekend, I couldn't do it over the weekend and figured I'd see if anyone here has any ideas. Cheers

Might try cleaning it first...I replaced my nav DVD drive with a junkyard unit and it worked fine. The dealer can give you the nav codes based on the serial # on the box, no need for the vin.
