Music Link Discontinued

Just spoke with a DC area Acura dealer who mentioned Acura discontinued the IPod Music Link.

Anyone else heard this?

If this is true...
The 2007 RL has an mp3 port, rendering MusicLink obsolete. I'm not sure about the other 2007 Acura models, though, but I suspect the same. MusicLink was not well thought out IMHO, but it works for those who don't mind shuffle mode.

Even though MusicLink had its peculiarities the quality of music will be much better than through the 'MP3 port' which I beleive will require hookup through the headphone jack. I listen to Shufle 90% of the time anyway.

No mention of that on the Musiclink website.

Hi all,

just spoke with an Acura rep from Acura Customer Service HQ and she confirmed that Musiclink is being discontinued. Said that Acura is working on a new approach which would probably be out in the Summer 08. Now going back to the dealer to get my malfunctioning Musiclink checked out. Everything is working fine apart from the fact that every search using TTS software comes up with something completely wrong,

Andy

Cables to Go makes a dock connector cable for the iPod which has the dock connector on one end and a 3.5mm plug on the other end. The part number is 35508 and Amazon carries it.

I use this cable to hook my iPod to the auxillary jack in my console and the sound is much better than going through the headphone jack.
