Forgive me if this is posted before, but when I go to get in my car, it unlocks but the memory settings don't work, sometimes. I will look over and the green light is not lit.. I know because my steering wheel doesn't come back to its personal setting. I know I saw some posts about a bad battery, but I only have 2 years on an 07 RL, and 30K miles.. I don't think it is my battery..

 

My memory light stopped working after I had a couple service visits where key fobs 1 and 2 were with me so I could give one to the service rep. Even though the car is supposed to recognize the key it senses first, somehow it messed with my settings and the green light would no longer work. With just the fob #1 with me, I just reset the memory myself and haven't had a problem with it since. Mine is an 06' with about 38K miles.

 

Don't discount the possible battery problem. This is exactly the symptom unless your FOB got "de-paired". If the MID still displays Welcome Driver 1, and the wheel does not telescope, I would bet on battery. I had to replace mine at the 2 yr mark.
