Hi,
I’ve got a 2005 RL with just under 50K miles, and I’ve got a question hopefully someone has the answer to. The B maintenance reminder (oil change only) just popped up on my MID, but nothing showed up on the Nav. screen. As I remember in the past, and according to the owner's manual, the maintenance description is supposed to show up on the Nav. screen to explain exactly what is due. One dealer said that they have never seen the description just for an oil change, but the manual doesn’t exclude specific maintenance items. Does anyone know if ALL the MID displays show up in the Nav. screen, or only certain ones? I can’t remember it not appearing before. Thanks

no it does not show Oil reminder in Nav screen just in mid. enjoy your RL i have 109,000mi on my 2005 Rl, NOT ONE PROBLEM... I love it... enjoy.

I have never seen any reminders on the nav screen. The amber light always comes on and it always shows up on the MID.

Thanks, since I'm near the end of my warranty, I wanted to make sure that everything is working the way it is supposed to, before the warranty is over. I know I've seen information on the Nav. screen, but it may have been for differential oil changes, and not engine oil changes.

The only messages I have seen on the Nav screen were:

1. about 30 messages when the car was new that were added over about 45 days to help you understand the different features of the car.
2. every November, a message to check your tire pressure due to the coming cold weather
3. diagnostic messages, when I had a passenger air bag off (parcel in the seat), a CMBS error (once and never again)
4. acura link messages that tell me I have an upcoming appointment at the dealer when I made such appointments via the Owner Link website (my Blackberry from TMobile does not support the required BT profile)
5. I honestly cannot remember if I get something that tells me to change my oil or the differential fluid, etc...you are thinking it tells you, for example, what a B12 maintenance interval means? I just had a B12 done, but I don't recall a message on the Nav screen. My differential fluid was changed at about 12K miles, but I honestly don't remember if it told me on the Nav screen what a B16 (or was it A16?) was.

When the mid shows a maintenance code, you should be able to go to the information, messages, maintenance and listen to what is included in the code. Mine worked up until the car was a year old then stopped working. A few months ago it started working again, go figure.

Just a quick question.....Does the Maint Minder reset automatically when the oil/filter is changed, or will I have to go in and reset it?

I doubt the place I get my oil changed at will know how.

The dealer usually resets it.
There is a procedure in the manual to reset codes if you get done at other than the dealer.

You know, that is kind of what I thought, but I could not remember. Did you change Navi discs by any chance?
