Question JDM KB1 (2nd Gen) Honda Legend Bluetooth Setup

I have recently purchased a JDM KB1 (2nd Gen) Honda Legend and I'm trying to find out how to setup Bluetooth on it, or if it even has the Bluetooth option installed.

Is anyone able to offer me any assistance with this?

Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sam.

I've never heard of one without Bluetooth. What are you trying to setup, calling? You probably don't have Bluetooth audio streaming. Turn your phone Bluetooth on and make sure it's discoverable. Press the voice command button and say, "pair."

(Obviously, I'm assuming your car either speaks English or the appropriate Japanese translations will work. )

Yes, trying to setup calling. I realise that it won't stream music.

Unfortunately mine is a JDM model so everything is in Japanese

Do you speak Japanese? Maybe a friend could help you out?

Unfortunately no, I don't speak or read Japanese, nor do I have any Japanese friends.

JDM KB1 Honda Legend does not have Bluetooth as standard. A Bluetooth adapter is required.

I am fluent in Japanese so happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Hi paddlesnz, thanks very much for the offer! Whereabouts in NZ are you? I'm from Auckland myself!

What is the best way to tell if my Legend has Bluetooth or not?

You don't happen to own a JDM KB1 yourself do you?

I'm in Wellington and yes I have a JDM KB1.

If it has Bluetooth, it would have been added later and there will be an external adapter. Most early JDM KB1 Legends don't have it added as cellphone connection was made through the inbuilt Internavi stereo. Later models had Internavi Premium which included Bluetooth.

@paddlesnz: So just to be clear, are you saying that Bluetooth is not a factory option on the KB1?

Also, do you know how to set the clock to the correct timezone?

Thanks for that link @rush, that looks like a cheap, but functional solution!

Correct, was not a factory option. The clock is set to the GPS which is Japan time. It can be changed via the secret menu but will revert to Japanese time unless the GPS antenna is disconnected.

Does your Legend have night vision?

Ah right, gotcha.

How do you get to the secret menu? Do you know of any instructions with pictures anywhere on the net?

I suspected that the GPS might need to be disconnected and I actually found some service instructions for disconnecting the antenna, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

No, no night vision on mine which is a pity. You?

I have the following features:
- HIDS (IHCC + LKAS)
- VSA
- CMS
- AFS
- Smart Key keyless entry & start
- Side curtain airbags (might be standard?)
- Auto-dimming mirrors (I think)
- Seat Heaters

I've only had mine for a few days and I'm absolutely loving it! It's just so relaxing to drive! The IHCC is brilliant!

What features do you have? Also what year?

Will PM you the instructions over the weekend as the buttons you need to select are in Japanese.

Mine is 2006 with same features plus ventilated seats, Modulo body kit and night vision.

Night vision was an extremely rare option due to the cost.

Thanks!

Nice! I was hoping for one with those features too, but they're really hard to get!

Hi.

I realise it's been a while since anyone posted to this thread. I bought a JDM Honda Legend in really immaculate condition but can't use the Nav/VICS system because it is in Japanese.

I was wondering if you could PM me the secret menu codes so I can at least have the correct time for my country / time zone.

I am in Zambia in Africa.
